The weekly top 5 playlist – 22 August – Creedence Clearwater Revival

From their humble beginnings playing dingy sock hops and beer taverns in the early 60s, Creedence Clearwater Revival went on to become one of the most influential and successful rock bands in American history. Drawing on Southern iconography permeating from the bayous and swamps of Mississippi, their upbeat sound saturated with raspy, blues-infused vocals spawned time-spanning classics like Bad Moon Rising and Fortunate Son.

As avid admirers of CCR,we’ve decided to pay homage to the classics. Following the success of our recent Creedence tribute gig at the Red Door in Pietermaritzburg, we’re taking to the stage again for an evening guaranteed to take you back to the bayou. For those of you in PMB, make sure you drop by to check us out. Our playlist this week (in case you haven’t already guessed) is dedicated to CCR.

  1. Creedence Clearwater Revival – Born on a Bayou
  2. Creedence Clearwater Revival – Suzie Q
  3. Creedence Clearwater Revival – Before you Accuse Me
